Tonight’s blog is a tribute to the countdown…(beep, beep, beep) 7 days until 24. Jack Bauer and the cast (well, some of them) are back. It’s that time of year again. You can smell it in the air. Suspense, adventure, explosions, and daring rescues. Adrenaline will be flowing. My wife will be shielding her eyes behind me for approximately 18 of the 24 hours. 7 days away.
One article I read stated that everyone on the show is expendable, except Jack of course. This is one reason the acting is so strong. Each actor and actress only knows the script for that one day, errr episode. Thus, they are challenged to perform their best in hopes that the writers will not tire of them and find some way to kill them off.
My friend Brandt and I were talking last season about how frequently someone extremely important to the storyline is killed. I think it was March then, so the spirit of NCAA basketball bracket pools was all around. You know, where everyone picks the teams they think have the best shot to make it to the Final Four. We thought: What if there was a 24 pool at the beginning of next season? Each player in the pool would pick the characters they thought would make it through the whole season, and the characters they thought would not.
So I want your thoughts. Kim Bauer, Chloe O’Brien, Curtis Manning, Audrey Raines, Martha Logan, Charles Logan, and Bill Buchanan. Who will make it and who will not? Leave your predictions by commenting below. And a bonus question...is Tony Almeida still alive? Be sure to tell why. Then we’ll watch the season together.

Okay...confession...this is my first season of 24. I'm pretty pumped to jump in, but I might occasionally need a little support along the way :-)
Is it worth it to watch the previous seasons?
I predict that Jack, Chloie, Audrey, and Kim will survive.

I think Jack, Chloe, and Kim will make it. Everyone else will gladly give their lives for Jack.

Curtis goes with a big dramatic finish like Edgar last season OR Audrey goes because the writers can't let Jack be happy for too long. The only reason Audrey stays is if she's moved on and married someone else...keep Jack tragic.

Oh! and to answer ted...is it worth it to watch previous seasons? YES! but prepared to do nothing else once you start one...
I think everyone in the world dies this season.... except Jack.
The countdown to the season's beginning is 30 minutes. I need to make my picks. Sadly, I think either Curtis or Bill Buchanan have reached their end, if not both. I am going to predict Curtis is gone. I also think Charles Logan will find some way to enter this season. He won't make it out.
I can't stand Kim, but she is a constant. Audrey is a wild-card. Jack finally is building on this romance, but will Audrey make it through? Something dramatic will happen with her, but she will survive. Speaking of which, I think they could almost re-name the show "Survivor." I hope Chloe makes it through, but you never know.
And for the bonus question, Tony Almeida is alive and we will find this out in the first four hours.
